An unexpected gift of the pandemic was discovering that I can do in-depth consultations via Zoom and FaceTime. So I am able to help people who live too far for an in-person session.
One of the main reasons both men and women contact me is about hair loss.
I have experienced severe hair loss three times in my life and have successfully regrown a full head of hair each time, so I am well acquainted with the many holistic and natural approaches to restoring hair. And I know which ones work. Each person’s hair situation is unique, and the solutions must be determined individually. Sometimes I feel like a detective trying to uncover the sources of the undesirable condition and discovering solutions to each hair loss situation.
We always begin with an in-depth questionnaire to narrow down the causes and highlight some immediate beneficial changes to be made. There is rarely one solution to hair loss challenges. The holistic approach is usually the most successful and will often reap benefits for the skin and brain as well. Even online or via phone, I can assess the initial condition of the hair, and as progress is being made, I can see the new hair growth responding to the various types of stimulation.
One of the most enjoyable consultations is helping a client to discover the best hair styles for their face, body, hair volume, texture, and lifestyle. A sketch or photo can be provided to bring to a local hairdresser if Hair Balancing practitioner is not available near you.
Another fun aspect of style is discovering the most flattering accessories, especially eyeglasses, that will compliment one’s face and hair.
Fortunately, no one today has snakes for hair, but Hair Trauma is real. I have helped clients to recover from terribly traumatic experiences with their hair. The trauma can be physical, emotional, and psychological. All of these aspects must be addressed in a caring, supportive healing environment.
Hair trauma is a serious issue. It can stem from being told as a child by a parent, sibling, friend, or hairdresser that you have “bad hair.” This belief is rarely based on fact. One woman was told she could never grow her hair long, so she never tried, but she always yearned for long hair. When she was 50 years old I showed her that yes, she could grow her hair, and she enjoyed long hair for the first time in her life.
Some trauma has been caused by chemical processes like perming, straightening or coloring that turned out badly. Recovery from chemical damage can take a long time if you don’t want to cut off the mistakes.
I have helped women who accidentally caught their hair on fire. Another had her hair trapped in machinery which was traumatic on many levels.
Sometimes hair trauma comes from alopecia, an autoimmune disorder where one’s hair falls out in spots, sometimes large areas, or even the entire head. Hair Harmonics is not a cure, but has been helpful in many ways. Trichotillomania, or uncontrollable hair pulling, is a body focused repetitive behavior. Some sufferers have found relief with the natural practices of Hair Harmonics.
In domestic violence situations, someone may be preventing you from having your hair cut or is forcing you to cut it. That type of abuse can also take the form of pulling hair, or ripping it out. We should all be free to do as we wish with our hair. Hair Harmonics can be very healing in these situations.

When hair is too dry, too frizzy, too oily, or the scalp is experiencing unwanted conditions, a consultation can often get to the source of the problem. Again, the holistic approach of looking at the many aspects of diet, water quality, lifestyle, environment, harmful practices, and hair products can usually determine what is out of balance and restore health and vitality to your hair.
Consultations are $150 for one hour, $80 for a half hour, and $40 if you have only a few questions that we can handle in about fifteen minutes.
